• Receives and processes tax payments; enters data of payments received; balances cash drawers.
• Reconciles daily deposits and prepares deposits for electronic filing.
• Responds to inquiries from property owners, developers, title companies, investors, and other debtors regarding property tax bills and collection information.
• Explains tax laws to taxpayers and researches tax collection issues; prepares related correspondence.
• Coordinates with Assessors Office on address changes and delinquent collections and removal of uncollectible property from tax records.
• Processes correspondence; prepares redemptions of Tax Lien Certificates; researches deeds and prepares forms for tax records.
• Audits Tax Lien and mobile home files for new taxpayer information; audits sale ledgers for correct entries.
• Sends notices and delinquent letters; assists in research of parcels and part-payments for Tax Lien Sale and mailings.
