Navajo County Treasurer's Office is seeking a detail-oriented clerical professional to support daily tax processing and customer service duties. This role handles cash, verifies tax payments, posts tax records, and maintains confidential files.
The position requires accuracy, reliability, and the ability to work in a fast-paced government setting. Ideal candidates will have a High School diploma or GED with clerical experience, strong math and data entry skills, and the ability to communicate
Under general supervision, performs work of moderate difficulty preparing, processing, verifying and reconciling account and fiscal documentation; may serve as lead worker. Handles cash including receiving, counting, balancing, and securing cash money according to the office policy. Front line customer service professional, greeting customers and supporting the financial management and operation of the Navajo County Treasurer through maintenance of real estate and personal property tax records and reports. This position has countywide specific responsibility. The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 60% sitting, 20% walking and 20% standing. Working at a computer monitor for extended periods required. The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and under extreme likelihood of harsh criticism from hostile and frustrated customers. High School diploma or GED; AND one-year experience in data entry, computer operations, or other relevant clerical support experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience; prior experience in a government setting preferred; AND a valid driver’s license. Requires successful completion of a background check.
