Job summary

Welltower is seeking a Property Tax Analyst to bridge internal tax resources for real and personal property tax appeals. You will analyze market data, perform valuations, and file appeals to reduce liabilities, coordinating with tax authorities to ensure accurate assessments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 1-2 years relevant work experience.
• OneSource or Optimus/iTam property tax software experience preferred or related software/database knowledge.
• Knowledge of property tax assessment methods and Excel proficiency.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in data management and reporting.
• Knowledge of property tax regulations, valuation and compliance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the administrative process of property tax appeals and document management in WELL systems.
• Process data entry into WELL systems and manage data capture for periodical reports to internal stakeholders and external customers.
• Support the assessment, valuation, and legal challenge of property taxes for real or personal property.
• Perform independent market, income, and cost analysis to determine fair market value.
• Identify over‑assessed properties, file tax appeals, and negotiate with taxing authorities.
• Review tax assessments, track appeal status, and ensure accurate tax projections for budgeting.
• Prepare detailed valuation reports, support documentation, and evidence for hearings.
• Communicate with internal stakeholders, operators, attorneys, and consultants regarding assessment discrepancies.
