Job summary

Centre County Government seeks a data-focused County Assessor Analyst to maintain the tax roll, review deed reports, and manage the CAMA system for Homestead/Farmstead programs. The role involves preparing reports for state and local authorities and communicating with municipal officials.

You will analyze PSU In-Lieu data with university staff and develop custom CAMA reports using SQL, while handling public inquiries about assessments and millage information.

Responsibilities

• Communicate Act 1 and Act 50 updates to officials and the public.
• Update Per Capita tax roll as needed.
• Verify PSU In-Lieu Schedule A data with university staff.
• Develop and maintain custom SQL reports within CAMA.
• Process disabled veteran notices into CAMA.
• Serve as primary contact for general assessment questions.
• Maintain millage rates and tax collector information on public site.

Essential Job Functions

• Maintain the county tax roll database, ensuring accurate records of ownership, mailing addresses, and changes to property locations.
• Review daily deed reports and related plans to revise parcel acreage in the CAMA database.
• Oversee the Centre County Homestead/Farmstead program to ensure compliance with Act 1 and Act 50, utilizing CAMA to manage the program database, create and process applications as well as generate reports for state and local authorities.
• Communicate with municipal and school district officials and the public regarding Act 1 and Act 50.
• Facilitate updates to the Per Capita tax roll.
• Analyze and verify PSU In-Lieu Schedule A data and communicate with university staff for updates.
• Assist in developing and maintaining custom reports within CAMA that are necessary for departmental processes using SQL, a computer programming language.
• Assist with processing disabled veteran notices into CAMA.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for general assessment questions and redirect inquiries as needed.
• Maintain documents related to millage rates, homestead/farmstead reduction amounts, and tax collector information for the public and on the county website.

Other Duties

• Attends internal/external meetings during and after working hours as needed.
• Assist with upkeep of digital property record cards.
• Conduct interviews with property owners of newly constructed homes to gather essential data.
• Performs other job-related duties as requested.
