Job summary

Gila County is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to manage the Department's database application and ensure the integrity of property valuation data under the direction of the Assessor. You will collaborate with the Gila County IT Department to provide technical support and user training, while ensuring adherence to state and statutory requirements.

Responsibilities include leading the Assessors' CAMA system, vendor liaison, data quality procedures, and producing statutory reports

Responsibilities

  • Manage, modify, install, and maintain the Department's database application, including all related system and software upgrades.
  • Serve as Administrative Lead for Assessors' CAMA System, managing vendor relationships, developing data verification and quality assurance procedures, and providing end‑user training and support.
  • Provide technical support in troubleshooting, installing, and maintaining hardware, software, and equipment for the Assessors database system.
  • Analyze complex system problems, identify malfunctions, and implement effective solutions.
  • Liaison to vendors and third‑party support for Assessor‑specific software and the Department of Revenue (DOR) systems.
  • Maintain compliance with the Arizona Department of Revenue and state statutory requirements related to assessment and taxation.
  • Research, compile, and analyze data for the equalization assessment calendar and provide recommendations to improve valuation accuracy.
  • Develop and implement procedures and in‑house programs for collecting, manipulating, analyzing, and reporting appraisal data, including testing and verification queries.
  • Generate statutory‑mandated reports, abstracts of value, Notices of Value, Notices of Change, Personal Property Declarations, and the annual tax roll, delivering them to the County Treasurer and other stakeholders.
  • Create requested data reports for internal and public use.
  • Monitor property records for accuracy, correct errors in identification, classification, or valuation, and execute quality assurance procedures.
  • Complete special projects as directed by management and perform other duties assigned.
