Job summary

Centre County Government is seeking a 911 Dispatcher Trainee – Public Safety Telecommunicator to join the tax/assessment division. The role supports the county's property datasets, CAMA system, and reporting needs, while coordinating with municipal officials and university partners.

Primary duties include maintaining tax rolls, reviewing deeds, and processing Act 1/Act 50 requirements. Strong SQL and data-entry skills are essential; travel and valid PA driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; some college preferred.
• Experience with SQL preferred.
• Strong data entry skills required.
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
• 2–4 years working with computers, deeds research.

Responsibilities

• Maintain county tax roll database with ownership, addresses, and property changes.
• Review deed reports and revise parcel acreage in the CAMA database.
• Oversee Homestead/Farmstead program using CAMA; generate reports for state/local authorities.
• Communicate with municipal officials and the public about Act 1 and Act 50.
• Facilitate updates to the Per Capita tax roll.
• Analyze and verify PSU In-Lieu Schedule A data and liaise with university staff for updates.
• Assist in developing and maintaining SQL-based reports for departmental processes.
• Assist with processing disabled veteran notices into CAMA.
• Serve as primary contact for general assessment questions and direct inquiries as needed.
• Maintain documents related to millage rates and tax collector information.
