Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a versatile Legal Counsel for a client in Upington, South Africa. The role offers remote work flexibility and involves handling commercial transactions, property matters, leases, and corporate advisory.

The successful candidate must be admitted as an attorney in SA with 6-8 years PQE in commercial and property law, capable of drafting and negotiating contracts and leases, and knowledgeable in conveyancing.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
• 6-8 years post-qualification experience in commercial & property law.
• Proven ability to draft and negotiate commercial contracts and leases.
• Solid understanding of South African property law and conveyancing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including sales, leases, and service contracts.
• Advise on property law matters, including acquisitions, disposals, and development agreements.
• Manage lease agreements, ensuring compliance and optimal terms.
• Provide legal support for corporate transactions, including due diligence and structuring.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant South African laws and regulations.
• Conduct legal research and prepare opinions on commercial and property-related issues.
• Assist in managing and resolving disputes and litigation.
• Liaise with external legal advisors and relevant authorities.
