Job summary

The John Stewart Company is seeking a property manager to oversee daily operations of a multifamily property in California, ensuring compliant management and well‑maintained buildings. You will implement policies, train staff, and supervise leasing, maintenance, and resident services.

Responsibilities include enforcing rules, maintaining tenant files, and ensuring timely responses to resident needs while coordinating with regulatory agencies for HUD and tax credit programs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in management, training and evaluation with Tax Credit properties.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook are essential; Boston Post software knowledge is a plus.
• Basic mathematical skills with proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent application of property rules and regulations, lease documents and report all violation.
• Process, complete and maintain accurate resident files at move-in and at each recertification within regulatory guidelines.
• Conduct recruiting, hiring and termination processes as well as training and evaluation of all staff.
• Manage program compliance such as HUD, TCAC, Home Program, RHCP, CAL HFA, AHP, etc.
• Obtain documentation, complete certifications and collect deposits and rents per policy.
• Ensure site staff responds to resident requests or complaints timely and courteously.
• Complete work orders and turnover of vacant units promptly.
