Property Management Administrative Assistant

Job Location: Bronx, NY

Department: All Geel Properties

FLSA: Non-Exempt/ Professional

Reports to: Director of Property Management and Development, DPMD

Function: Provides administrative support for the DPMD

Hours: 35 hours per week

Program hours: Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m

Salary: $29.12 per hour, annualized at $53,000

Revision Date: March 18, 2025

Essential Responsibilities and Role of Property Management Administrative Assistant:

  • Assist in ensuring compliance with local regulations, building codes, and industry standards.
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of effective building operations strategies and procedures.
  • Assist in responding to building violations and coordinate with contractors/vendors and Building Maintenance staff to clear violations.
  • Assist with the preparation for and sometimes attending Housing Court Hearings/OATH Trials and other legal proceedings.
  • Assist in the identification of appropriate contractors/vendors and communicating with contractors/vendors to obtain quotes and proposals.
  • Order and track supplies/equipment for Building Maintenance staff.
  • Assist with property management meetings, tenant staff complaints and performance evaluations when needed.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Experience: Preferred that the applicant has at least 1 year of experience working in the capacity of an administrative assistant or a property management setting. Computer proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Must be able to utilize public transportation.
  • Must be able to ascend and descend stairs regularly.
