Job summary

Real Property Management Metro Boston is seeking an Accounts Payable Assistant in Houston, TX to support the Accounting Team with timely processing of vendor bills, utility payments, property taxes, and HOA assessments.

You will manage online payments, monitor obligations, and coordinate with HOAs and vendors, while providing backup accounting support and contributing to efficient financial operations.

Qualifications

• 1 year of accounting experience preferred.
• Appfolio experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of industry standards and practices.
• Experience with Excel, email, and other software.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Exceptional collaboration skills and a passion for problem solving.
• Bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process office utility bills for RPM operations, ensuring timely and accurate payment.
• Manage end-of-year property tax and HOA billing, including proactively contacting HOAs to obtain bills not received by the due date.
• Monitor Accounting Team communications to assist with processing refunds and service requests.
• Track recurring bills in AppFolio, prioritizing online payments to prevent late fees.
• Review the Aged Payable report to keep balances current.
• Investigate uncleared checks by contacting vendors for reissuance.
• Process over-the-phone payments for selected Utility companies.
• Support the property termination process by coordinating with utilities.
• Collaborate with Pod Lead.
• Back-up for in-office general accounting.
• Support the A/R team on special projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
