Position: Maintenance Technician

Location: Northland community, Kansas City, Missouri

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform general grounds and lawn maintenance, as well as basic repairs to homes owned by the community, for 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities:
  1. Perform maintenance to ensure homes and community areas are in proper condition.
  2. Execute work orders and report status to the Community Manager promptly.
  3. Handle all contacts with residents, prospective residents, visitors, and employees courteously and attentively.
  4. Identify deficiencies using established procedures and take immediate action with approval.
  5. Maintain community grounds, including weed treatment, leaf raking, planting, mulching, trimming, and tree limb removal.
  6. Remove and dispose of garbage on community grounds and in resident areas.
  7. Perform snow removal as needed.
  8. Advise Community Manager of garbage disposal issues or large item pickups.
  9. Inventory maintenance and grounds equipment and supplies, advising on needs.
  10. Maintain order and appearance of garages and storage areas.
  11. Maintain all maintenance and grounds equipment.
  12. Comply with health and safety laws to reduce accidents and protect all stakeholders.
  13. Perform seasonal pre-maintenance services.
  14. Remain available for on-call duties as needed.
  15. Participate in refurbishing community-owned homes.
  16. Maintain community water and sewer lines.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Valid operator's license with a good driving record and insurability.
  • Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, appliance repairs, HVAC, and carpentry.
  • May need to provide own tools.
  • Physical ability to bend, stretch, twist, walk continuously, and access restricted spaces.
  • Ability to operate maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to lift or move up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Tolerance to exposure to various chemicals.
