Maintenance Worker (Landscaping) (seasonal)

Seasonal position available with the Parks & Recreation Department, Landscaping Division, located at Loose Park, 5200 Wornall.

Salary Range: $19.27-$29.39.

Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m.- 3:30 p.m., 32-40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Work in adverse conditions for landscaping.
• Participate in trash collection, routine groundskeeping, and building maintenance activities.
• Operate equipment for mowing grass, trimming shrubs, and branch pickup.
• Water and care for grass, plants, trees, shrubs, and flowers.
• Apply herbicides as needed.
• Clean and maintain bathrooms daily.
• Receive work assignments through oral and written instructions.
• Work independently or in groups as required.

Qualifications

REQUIRES: High school graduation or 6 months of experience in general labor. A valid state-issued driver's license may be required. Must pass pre-employment drug screen and physical examination. Preference given to those with landscaping experience.
