Job summary

Essex Property Trust in Ventura, CA, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform routine and preventive building maintenance, respond to resident requests, and prepare units for new residents. You will work on HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems and repairs, while maintaining safety standards and accurate records.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 2+ years in property management or related experience, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of property management or related experience.
• HVAC and/or CPO license preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required for onsite operations.
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing and appliance repairs.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and appliances.
• Repair and maintain interior and exterior features such as doors, windows, walls, flooring and fixtures.
• Prepare vacant units for new residents, including painting, cleaning and item replacement.
• Respond to maintenance requests and emergencies; on-call evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Maintain safety, follow preventive maintenance schedules and report hazards.
• Complete work orders and document work in SightPlan or tracker records.
