Job summary

Vest Residential in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform technical and mechanical work to maintain building exteriors, interiors, and common areas to company standards for safety and appearance.

You will handle work orders, preventative maintenance, and the make-ready process for new move-ins while managing inventory and documenting work. The role requires a focus on safety, efficiency, and reliable on-call availability.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED or related experience or training.
Experience in maintenance or facilities preferred.
EPA certifications Type I and II or Universal for refrigerant recycling may be required.

Responsibilities

Completes assigned work orders generated from resident requests for service, as well as preventative maintenance by diagnosing the source of the defect and making repairs per policies and safety standards.
Completes the “make-ready” process to prepare vacant apartment homes for leasing by completing inspections, creating a punch list, scheduling vendors, obtaining supplies, and inspecting work.
Follows procedures for obtaining materials and tracking inventory, returning unused items, and notifying the maintenance supervisor about re-ordering needs.
Completes documentation and paperwork to ensure service requests are properly documented and tracked.
Assists in maintaining grounds, common areas, and amenities by cleaning, pressure-washing, painting curbs and signage as needed.
Supports cost-cutting by fixing parts when possible and using materials efficiently.
