Job summary

Greystar is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure building exteriors, interiors, and common areas meet safety and quality standards. You will diagnose defects, perform repairs, and manage preventive maintenance on a busy property in Charleston.

The role requires hands-on maintenance experience, EPA refrigerant certifications, and the ability to work independently while coordinating with vendors and the maintenance supervisor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or related experience and/or training.
• 2 years minimum experience in property maintenance or related trade.
• EPA certifications Type I and II or Universal for refrigerant recycling.
• Proactive and self-motivated with ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned work orders from resident requests and preventive maintenance.
• Complete the make-ready process to prepare vacant apartments for leasing and move-ins.
• Track materials, tools, and supplies and notify supervisor when re-ordering.
• Complete documentation for service requests to ensure proper tracking.
• Assist in maintaining grounds, common areas, and amenities; clean and paint as needed.
• Support cost-cutting by repairing parts instead of replacing when feasible.
• Attend safety meetings and comply with OSHA and safety requirements.
• Inspect work by contractors to ensure quality and compliance.
