Job summary

Tailwind Group is a top twenty owner and manager of off-campus student housing, committed to a strong workplace culture and serving residents and team members. The Maintenance Technician role supports preventative upkeep, capital improvements, and repairs to preserve property value and reputation.

This full-time position runs Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm, with occasional nights or weekends. Compensation ranges from $19.00–$22.00 per hour plus bonus potential and location-based considerations.

Qualifications

• One or more years of experience in building maintenance (student housing experience is a plus).
• Experience with HVAC and appliance repair.
• A valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor residential sites, building locations, clubhouse, amenities, and other common areas for superior curb appeal, general cleanliness, and organization.
• Review, assign and follow-up on open work orders to ensure the work order is completed and accepted within company guidelines.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service during each encounter with residents, prospects, vendors, officials, and community members.
• Solicit bids, negotiate contracts, and observe work performed by independent contractors to ensure quality product and service.
• Respond to after-hour emergency issues.
• Monitor maintenance trends and develop a preventative maintenance program to help minimize cost to owner.
• Assist with organizing and maintaining inventory of company vehicles, machinery, and tools.
• Assist with annual unit turnover and help execute move-in/move-out procedures.
