Job summary

SMC Internal Careers is seeking a Service Technician in Maryland to diagnose and repair building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, masonry, and appliances. The role emphasizes hands-on maintenance and adherence to company standards and applicable laws.

This full-time position requires strong communication, record-keeping, and safety awareness. Training and on-the-job development are provided, with opportunities to contribute to community engagement.

Qualifications

Three years of experience in maintenance related field(s).
Successful completion of Basic Electric class offered at SMC internal training facility.
Successful completion of all other basic maintenance classes offered internally and all on-the-job training within one year of hire date.

Responsibilities

Address, follow up and document service requests
Maintain an inventory of adequate supplies
Perform preventive maintenance on fan coil and convector HVAC unit
Complete additional preventive maintenance inspections as scheduled
Participate in on-call rotation as scheduled
Make repairs to grounds and drainage
Ensure all work and documentation comply with internal quality control standards
Maintain personal supply of tools as designated by SMC's Tool Checklist
Address emergency maintenance as needed
Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor
Contribute to community and company engagement efforts
