Job summary

SMC is seeking a Service Technician in Maryland to diagnose problems and perform repairs across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and related systems. This full-time role requires hands-on troubleshooting to ensure assets meet company standards and applicable laws.

The technician will document service requests, assist with inventory, participate in on-call rotations, and maintain tool readiness. Candidates should have one year of maintenance experience and complete internal Basic Electric

Qualifications

• One year of experience in maintenance related field(s).
• Successful completion of Basic Electric class offered at SMC internal training facility.
• Successful completion of all other basic maintenance classes offered internally and all on-the-job training within one year of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Address, follow up and document service requests
• Assist with inventory maintenance
• Diagnose heat problems and repair or replace components, as needed
• Perform preventive maintenance on fan coil and convector HVAC units
• Complete additional preventive maintenance inspections as scheduled
• Participate in on-call rotation as scheduled
• Ensure all work and documentation comply with internal quality control standards
• Maintain personal supply of tools as designated by SMC's Tool Checklist
• Address emergency maintenance as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor
• Contribute to community and company engagement efforts
