Job summary

RHP Properties is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the Orchard Grove community in Ann Arbor, MI. This full-time role involves general grounds and lawn maintenance, plus basic home repairs for community-owned properties.

You will have 2+ years of relevant maintenance experience and knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry. You may need to provide your own tools and must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid operator’s license with a good driving record and insurability.
• Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, appliance repairs, HVAC and carpentry.
• May need to provide own tools.
• Able to bend, stretch, twist, walk continuously and access restricted spaces.
• Able to lift or move up to 75 pounds.
• Tolerance for exposure to various chemical compounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance to ensure homes and community areas are in proper condition.
• Execute assigned work orders and report status to the Community Manager.
• Promote goodwill with residents, visitors and staff.
• Identify deficiencies and take action with Community Manager approval.
• Maintain community grounds, mow/weed/trim, and perform lawn care as needed.
• Remove garbage from grounds and resident sites to maintain appearance.
• Assist with snow removal using snow blower, shovel or plow as applicable.
• Report large items needing pickup to Community Manager or Maintenance Supervisor.
• Maintain inventories of maintenance equipment and supplies.
• Keep garages and storage areas organized and clean.
• Maintain maintenance and grounds equipment and ensure safe operation.
• Comply with health and safety laws to reduce accidents.
