Job summary

Weidner Apartment Homes in Moses Lake, WA is seeking a Service Manager to mentor the service team and oversee maintenance for the community. You will work with the Community Director to drive financial performance and asset value while ensuring excellent resident and vendor service.

Candidates should have 2+ years of maintenance experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and be capable of leading, hiring, and training staff. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years maintenance experience required.
• Prior management experience desired.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude required.
• Able to lift up to 80 pounds, climb ladders and stairs.
• Able to use appliance dolly, push/pull up to 200 pounds.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• On feet for entire shift.
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, pool maintenance, appliances, building systems, irrigation, and HVAC.

Responsibilities

• Ensure maintenance and housekeeping associates produce accurate and timely payroll records; manage overtime except for an emergency.
• Manage staff issues promptly; communicate performance evaluations to Area/Regional Director.
• Assist with interviewing and recruiting associates; mentor and develop all maintenance and housekeeping staff.
• Prepare and supervise apartments for occupancy including painting, drywall repair, trash out, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical repairs.
• Perform and assign service requests for residents daily and timely.
• Perform and oversee system repairs on electrical, plumbing, boilers, hot water heaters, HVAC systems, appliances, etc.
• Perform and oversee detailed carpentry, drywall repairs and interior/exterior painting, etc.
• Clean and supervise pools, monitor chemical balance, maintain logs as required by city ordinances.
