Job summary

The City of Fort Worth is seeking a Property Control Attendant for the Police Department Auto Pound Unit. You will handle receipt, inspection and inventory of impounded vehicles, reporting to the Property Control Supervisor.

The role requires working 2nd or 3rd shift, including weekends and holidays, with outdoor duties in all weather. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and CJIS background clearance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license.
• Must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check.

Responsibilities

• Inventory property and inspect impounded vehicles for damage; document information on an impound card; escort wrecker to storage lot and ensure vehicles reach assigned parking locations.
• Escort all wreckers, customers retrieving vehicles, attorneys and insurance representatives on lot; locate vehicles and list all property removed from vehicle; ensure release of correct vehicle.
• Prepare and move unclaimed vehicles to designated auction areas for public online auction.
• Maintain facility grounds.
• Provide upkeep and care of City vehicles.
