Job summary

Mercury Insurance Company is seeking a Property Claims Field Adjuster. After training, you will travel to loss sites or handle claims virtually to assess damage and prepare estimates.

You will investigate coverage, settle claims, and maintain strong customer service while navigating regulatory requirements. The role emphasizes on-site inspections, collaboration with vendors, and timely communication with insureds, with the potential to work remotely from across the United States for many

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Ability to obtain state-specific property claims licensing.
• Must complete formal property claims training program (in person/virtual).
• Experience using estimating software like Xactimate.
• Experience in property claims, customer service, construction/restoration.
• Clear and professional communication; bilingual or military experience is a plus.
• 1–3 years industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve homeowners claims of minor to moderate complexity.
• Conduct field inspections at least 50% of time; company car provided.
• Handle virtual claims using imagery and video with vendors and insureds.
• Determine coverage; extend or deny as appropriate.
• Establish reserves and negotiate settlements; escalate beyond authority as needed.
• Communicate with insureds and representatives promptly and professionally.
• Manage workload and monitor progress to resolve inventories.
• Direct and review files handled by independent adjusters when needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
