Job summary

RLI Corp. is seeking a Claim Examiner-Casualty Property Damage in a hybrid role based in Chicago, IL (with opportunities in Atlanta, Alpharetta, GA).

You will proactively handle third-party general liability claims, focusing on property damage, to deliver fair and expeditious resolutions. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in business administration, insurance, or related field and at least 3 years of relevant experience; a law degree is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, insurance, or related field
• 3+ years of relevant legal or insurance related experience
• A law degree is a plus

Responsibilities

• Proactively handle third-party general liability claims (including some bodily injury, but with an emphasis on property damage claims) to achieve optimum payout results
• Assess and analyze coverage issues on claims, and issue appropriate coverage letters and documentation
• Complete timely investigation of claims and post appropriate reserves
• Pursue risk transfer opportunities, including dealing with contractual indemnity and additional insured issues
• Handle claims in accordance with RLI's Best Practices
• Resolve claims in timely manner to an effective outcome
