Job summary

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company is seeking a Field Claims Specialist in Utah. The role involves investigating and resolving moderate to severe property damage claims by phone and in person, with travel to policy locations and rooftop inspections as needed.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of field/property claims experience, strong knowledge of Xactimate, and the ability to manage reserves, communicate effectively, and deliver outstanding service to Nationwide customers.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of insurance field/property claims handling or adjusting experience.
• Solid experience writing own estimates and handling claims start to finish.
• Construction background/experience in Residential, Roofing, Remodeling, Water mitigation, etc.
• Strong customer service competency and communication skills.
• CAT duty is a requirement of this role.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve moderate to severe property damage claims by phone and face-to-face.
• Handle claims promptly with delegation per policies and procedures.
• Determine proper coverages and apply claims practices to resolve cases.
• Open/close and adjust reserves to ensure reserve adequacy.
• Maintain knowledge of local industry repair procedures and pricing.
• Deliver outstanding customer service to Nationwide customers.
