Position Summary
Exercises independent discretion or judgment in handling property claims within designated authority. Responsible for servicing assigned territory and may handle litigated claims.

- This is a remote, work-from-home position in Daviess, Henderson, Hopkins, Calloway, Christian, KY, and surrounding counties.
- The hiring manager will also consider candidates for Property Adjuster II. The level offered will depend on the candidate's experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Contact policyholders regarding property claims within authority. Conduct investigations, interviews, inspections, and prepare estimates. Evaluate coverage and make recommendations.
- Handle property claims within authority, set reserves, review reports, determine payments, and document files.
- Identify subrogation opportunities and initiate actions.
- Service assigned territory and bring claims to conclusion.
- Interact with Agents and district managers.
- Handle damages or coverage claims, including litigated claims and negotiations.
- Develop knowledge of estimating practices.
- Attend training to stay current on policies and legislation.
- Complete Technical Learning Center Training within one year.
- Participate in Catastrophe Team when required.

Qualifications
Minimum Educational and Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED with two years claims handling experience, or equivalent; or
- Completion of ERIE-sponsored formal education; or
- Bachelor's Degree required.
Additional Experience
- Resident in the assigned territory unless approved otherwise.
- Willingness to serve on catastrophe duty, including travel on short notice.
Designations and Licenses
- Willingness to complete Technical Learning Center Training.
- Preferred: AIC 33 and AIC 35 certifications.
- Willingness to obtain and maintain required licenses.
- Valid driver's license and good driving record required.
Physical Requirements
- Use of PPE required.
- Ability to move over 50 lbs with equipment.
- Climbing/accessing heights rarely required.
- Frequent driving.
- Manual data entry often required.
- Occasional pushing/pulling objects.
