Job Description

Responsible for investigating and confirming the facts of loss for complex automobile accidents. Determines coverage, liability, damages and otherwise adjusts and negotiates claims within limit of authority. Mentors junior employees.

**We are looking for a skilled Bodily Injury Adjuster with at least two years of experience handling attorney-represented claims. This is an extended handler role within our Bodily Injury Claims division. Initial training will be provided on-site, with mentorship available, for candidates near our Winston-Salem, NC office. We’re also open to candidates based in Eastern time zone states. While litigation experience is not required, we’re seeking individuals with a strong background in attorney-represented BI claims who are eager to grow their expertise within a stable and supportive organization. **

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine subrogation or fraud potential and how to handle for complex cases
  • Apply advanced understanding of insurance policies written by the company, the industry, and organizational relationships within the company and department
  • Handle investigation regarding all aspects of complex auto claims (coverage, liability and damages) with discretion and independence within increased authority levels
  • Learn to review, evaluate, and negotiate moderate to complex injury claims involving injuries (if handled)
  • Recognize and identify vehicle body parts and understand other potential property damages
  • Identify customer needs and work to meet those needs using appropriate customer service skills
Education

• 4-year Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)

Experience

• 3 or more years of experience (Preferred)

Supervisory Responsibilities

• This job does not have supervisory duties.

Education & Experience (in lieu)

• In lieu of the above education requirements, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Compensation

Base compensation offered for this role is:

  • BI Cons I: $60,000- $65,000
  • BI Cons II: $64,000 - $72,000
  • BI Sr Cons I: $65,000 - $84,000

And is based on experience and qualifications. Total compensation includes base salary plus incentive pay (commission, bonus, etc.) as applicable.
