Job summary

Ares Management in Denver, CO is hiring a Staff Accountant to join the Property Accounting Team. You will handle day-to-day property accounting duties in a high-volume setting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Ideal candidates have 1-3 years of accounting experience, familiarity with Yardi or AvidXchange, and a strong Excel skillset. A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required, with a base salary range noted below and comprehensive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience in a high-volume environment
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Experience with Yardi and/or AvidXchange preferred
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment and meet deadlines
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel

Responsibilities

• Prepare direct bills, late fees, and one-time charges for tenants
• Maintain an aging report and apply tenant credits
• Review cash receipts and coordinate with Accounts Receivable
• Work with Third-Party Property Managers on property operations
• Review accounts payable for accuracy
• Prepare month-end journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
• Prepare monthly financial statements and CAM reconciliations
• Assist with yearly CAM reconciliations and budget preparation
• Provide support for monthly reporting packages
• Collaborate with team to ensure accurate financials
• Participate in year-end close activities
• Support colleagues with additional duties as assigned
