Job summary

Avanti Residential is seeking a Property Accounting Supervisor in Denver to lead the property accounting team, oversee month-end close, and ensure accurate financial statements. The role partners with operations to resolve accounting questions and improve processes, with a focus on GAAP compliance and team leadership.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting, 4+ years in accounting, and 2+ years in real estate, plus supervisory and Yardi experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
• 4+ years of accounting experience required.
• 2+ years of real estate experience preferred.
• 1+ years of supervisory experience preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in Yardi accounting software preferred.
• Detail-oriented and self-motivated with initiative.
• Commitment to outstanding customer service.
• Knowledge of GAAP.
• Professional demeanor and team player.
• Valid driver’s license and up-to-date vehicle insurance or reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provide training, leadership, motivation, and support to the property accounting team to deliver superior performance and results.
• Manage the monthly close process to ensure accuracy of financial packages and deadlines.
• Review work by property accountants including reconciliations, payments, bank reconciliations, GL postings, fixed assets, and income statements.
• Collaborate with operations to resolve property accounting questions and implement efficient processes.
• Respond to inquiries regarding financial results and special reporting requests.
