Job summary

HireIQ is seeking a Property Accounting Manager to oversee accounting operations for a sizable multifamily portfolio in Westchester, NY. You will report to senior leaders and gain direct mentorship from the CFO, ensuring accurate close processes and insightful financial reporting.

You’ll own month-end close, rent rolls, and cash activity, while partnering with property management and operations teams to drive efficiencies and strengthen internal controls across a scaled portfolio.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of real estate or multifamily accounting experience.
• Strong month-end close and financial reporting experience.
• Hands-on experience with Yardi Voyager.
• A proactive leader capable of driving process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounting for a multifamily portfolio.
• Lead the monthly close with accuracy and accountability.
• Prepare and review financial statements.
• Oversee rent rolls, tenant ledgers, and cash activity.
• Handle reconciliations of bank, operating, and escrow accounts.

The Opportunity

Property management company is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee accounting operations for a sizable multifamily portfolio, while gaining direct exposure and mentorship from senior leaders with extensive experience scaling assets across New York.

What you’ll be responsible for

• Manage full-cycle accounting for a multifamily portfolio
• Lead the month-end close process with accuracy and accountabilityli>
• Prepare and review financial statements
• Oversee rent rolls, tenant ledgers, and cash management activity
• Handle bank, operating, and escrow account reconciliations
• Review budget-to-actual variances and provide clear analysis to leadership
• Work closely with property management and operations teams
• Identify process improvements and strengthen internal controls
• Lead, mentor, and develop a small accounting team (2)
