Welltower Careers in Frisco, TX is seeking a Manager of Property Accounting to oversee accounting and financial reporting for fixed assets, construction and development, and property operating expenses with a strong emphasis on process improvement and leadership of direct reports.

The role requires experience in real estate accounting, US GAAP, and SOX controls, along with the ability to mentor the accounting team and collaborate across departments to ensure accurate financial statements.

Formación

• Minimum five (5) years accounting experience preferably in real estate related activities and receivables.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business with an emphasis in accounting.
• Employment contingent upon background check, drug screening, and verification of employment and education.

Responsabilidades

• Fully proficient in accounting and financial reporting for one or more functional areas: fixed assets, construction and development, property operating expenses, and/or recovery of property operating expenses.
• Demonstrate ability to train and assist the Property Accounting team in all functional areas.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal controls policies and procedures.
• Maintain documentation of policies and procedures and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Lead efforts for process improvement to create more automated processes and oversee implementations.
• Maintain performance metrics to measure and monitor the Property Accounting team’s performance.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to the Property Accounting team and collaborate with other departments.
• Drive delivery of accurate financial statements and understanding of reporting requirements.
• Prepare and review journal entries and workpapers; ensure accuracy and completeness of support.
• Reconcile and review assigned accounts; maintain working papers.
• Prepare supporting schedules for external reporting including SOX documentation.
• Support internal and external audits in testing internal controls.
• Perform ad-hoc analysis as required.
