Job summary

Welltower is seeking a Senior Property Accountant to manage accounting and financial reporting for fixed assets, development costs, and property operating expenses in line with US GAAP and SOX controls. The role emphasizes accurate records, cross-functional collaboration, and process improvements.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years in real estate or property accounting and a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance, with willingness to travel occasionally and support audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Minimum of three (3) years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate or property accounting.
• Employment is contingent upon background check, drug screening, and verification of credentials.

Responsibilities

• Perform accounting and financial reporting for fixed assets, construction and development costs, property operating expenses, and cost recoveries.
• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting workpapers in accordance with GAAP and internal policies.
• Analyze monthly variances and trends in operating expense accounts; provide insights to management.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and SOX controls; support documentation and testing.
