Job summary

HRB is seeking a meticulous Property Accountant to manage monthly financial statements, bank reconciliations, and cash flow analysis for a portfolio of housing properties. The role involves HUD/REAC submissions and compliance reporting under regulated guidelines.

You will work with property management teams to review budgets, monitor escrows, and ensure accurate reporting in a fast-paced environment. A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required, with 2+ years of related experience.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of property accounting experience.
• Proficiency with property management systems such as Yardi (Voyager/Affordable) or RealPage/OneSite.
• Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, data analysis).
• Strong understanding of GAAP.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements, including bank reconciliations, balance sheet reviews, income statements, and cash flow analysis for assigned properties.
• Lead year-end audit preparation, including work papers and audit packages for external auditors.
• Support HUD REAC financial submissions and ensure compliance with lender and investor reporting requirements.
• Monitor and reconcile escrows, including replacement reserves, residual receipts, prepaid/delinquent balances, and tenant security deposits in accordance with HUD and state guidelines.
• Partner with Regional and Property Managers to review budget variances and ensure accurate financial reporting.
