Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking a detail-oriented Property Accountant to support accounting operations for a portfolio of properties in Lombard, IL. You will maintain financial records, prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and assist with month-end close to ensure accurate reporting.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Property Accountant to support accounting operations for a portfolio of our client's properties. This role will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing account reconciliations, supporting month-end close activities, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Maintain general ledger activity and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Reconcile bank accounts and balance sheet accounts.
• Monitor property-level expenses, accruals, and prepaid accounts.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis efforts.
• Assist with audit requests and provide supporting documentation as needed.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of accounting experience.
• Knowledge of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
