Job summary
Chesapeake Utilities Corporation seeks a Service Manager to oversee the safe installation, maintenance, and repair of propane systems across Sharp customer locations in Newark, DE. You will train field technicians, ensure credentials, and coordinate service work while adhering to safety codes.
You will manage inventories, approve payroll for direct reports, review work orders, and build relationships with contractors.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5+ years in propane or related trades.
- Experience installing, repairing, maintaining propane systems.
- CDL Class B HazMat license or willing to obtain within 6 months.
- CETP certification in specified modules within 12 months.
- NFPA 58, NFPA 54, and local codes knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Lead and train field technicians in installation, repair, and maintenance of propane systems.
- Coordinate service work and monitor safety protocols.
- Manage parts and inventory to optimize working capital.
- Communicate with customers regarding service, scheduling, and invoicing.
- Review payroll items for direct reports.
- Inspect completed jobs for code compliance and quality.
- Develop relationships with third-party contractors.
