Job summary

Southern States Cooperative is seeking a field service technician to install, maintain, and repair propane and/or oil heating systems, HVAC units, and related equipment.

You will read blueprints, diagnose malfunctions, and work with customers to ensure safe operation while following SSC procedures. Must hold applicable HVAC and propane certifications; a CDL and safety training are often required.

Qualifications

• Requires two (2) or more years of experience with installation and repair of propane or oil based heating systems (HVAC), equipment and appliances.
• Licensing requirements vary by location and are based on state/federal regulations
• Requires license in HVAC, Liquid Propane Gas Fitter or related trade
• Requires Petroleum and/or Propane Certification (or ability to obtain)
• Requires Commercial Driver's License (Class C or Class B depending upon location)
• Requires Hazardous Materials and/or Tanker Endorsement (or ability to obtain)

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain propane/oil heating systems per codes.
• Read blueprints and diagnose malfunctions.
• Communicate with customers and schedule service; collect payments or issue invoices.
• Operate SSC vehicles following safety policies.
