Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking an Environmental Services project assistant to support and execute cleaning and infection control initiatives. The role involves performing routine cleaning, collaborating with multiple departments, and ensuring a sanitary environment for patients, staff, and visitors at Mass General Brigham facilities.

Evening shift, 35 hours per week, on-site at 66 Blossom Street. High School diploma required; 1–2 years of ES experience preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing ES projects including deep cleaning and equipment maintenance.
• Follow project schedules to meet timelines.
• Coordinate activities with Environmental Services and other departments to minimize disruption to patient care.
• Perform routine cleaning tasks including dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and disinfecting.
• Adhere to cleaning protocols, infection prevention standards, and safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Essential Functions

• Assist in the planning and implementation of Environmental Services projects, including deep cleaning, renovations, and equipment maintenance.
• Follow project schedules and task assignments to ensure completion within designated timelines.
• Collaborate with Environmental Services team members and other departments to coordinate project activities and minimize disruption to patient care operations.
• Perform routine cleaning tasks, including dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and disinfecting assigned areas.
• Adhere to established cleaning protocols, infection prevention standards, and safety procedures.
• Use appropriate cleaning agents and equipment to maintain cleanliness standards and help prevent the spread of infections.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Licenses and Credentials Experience Previous experience in environmental services, housekeeping, or a related field. 1-2 years preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, infection control practices, and safety procedures.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Physical stamina and ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting and moving heavy objects.
