Job summary

Betenbough Companies is seeking a Project Specialist for its Property & Facilities team in Texas. You will own major facility projects from evaluation through closeout, coordinating with trade partners and driving preventive maintenance to keep assets performing.

Ideal candidates will excel at problem-solving, time management, and cross-functional communication, with field-based work and minimal travel. The role emphasizes tangible results and safety compliance across campuses.

Qualifications

  • Experience in managing projects from start to finish.
  • Current and valid driver’s license with ability to be insured by company fleet insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage facility projects from start to finish, including evaluating needs, defining scope, timelines, budgets, coordinating execution and closeout.
  • Create and maintain urgency to keep projects moving on schedule.
  • Identify qualified trade partners, obtain proposals, negotiate and support purchasing processes.
  • Build relationships with trade partners with clear expectations and accountability.
  • Develop and maintain preventive-care schedules for major building systems and equipment.
  • Coordinate inspections, routine servicing, and planned repairs to reduce disruptions and extend asset life.
  • Maintain organized tracking systems for projects, PM, contractors, budgets, schedules and warranties.
  • Look for opportunities to improve processes, reporting, organization and workflow efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the Property & Facilities team to coordinate priorities and respond to facility needs.
  • Ensure projects meet safety standards and applicable regulations.

As a Project Specialist on our Property & Facilities team, you’ll take ownership of major facility projects across Betenbough Companies’ home office campuses—from evaluating the initial need and selecting trade partners to coordinating execution and completing the final closeout. You’ll also help us stay ahead of facility needs through proactive and preventive care.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being in the field, solving problems, coordinating people and moving pieces, and seeing tangible results from their work.

What You’ll Do
  • Manage facility projects from start to finish, including evaluating needs, defining project scope, developing timelines and budgets, coordinating execution, and completing project closeout.
  • Create and maintain urgency to keep projects moving forward and on schedule.
  • Identify qualified trade partners and vendors, obtain and evaluate proposals, negotiate when appropriate, and support contract and purchasing processes.
  • Build strong relationships with trade partners while maintaining clear expectations and accountability.
  • Develop and maintain preventive-care schedules for major building systems, equipment, and facility components.
  • Coordinate inspections, routine servicing, and planned repairs to reduce disruptions and extend the life of company assets.
  • Maintain organized systems for tracking projects, preventive maintenance, contractors, budgets, schedules, warranties, inspections, and completion records.
  • Look for opportunities to improve processes, reporting, organization, and workflow efficiency.
