Job Title: Project Scheduler
Location: Hybrid - Houston, TX
Position Overview:
We are looking for a Project Scheduler II-III to provide scheduling and planning support for Subsea Projects. This role requires a highly skilled professional with expertise in Primavera (P6) and/or Microsoft Project, who can communicate effectively and manage complex project schedules. The role is hybrid, with 2 days WFH and 3 days onsite in Houston. The scheduler will be responsible for managing project schedules, identifying risks, proposing corrective actions, and ensuring project milestones are met within scope, budget, and time constraints.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule Development and Management:
- Define project objectives in terms of duration and resources.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, including baseline schedules, progress claims, and milestone achievements.
- Develop plans to mitigate risks and reduce costs.
- Monitor and control project progress, detecting delays, and proposing corrective actions.
- Support the client approval process of schedule baselines.
- Project Coordination:
- Facilitate communication across project teams to ensure schedule conflicts are identified early and accurately incorporated into project schedules.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project breakdown structures and major milestones.
- Review and define schedule logic and constraints with task owners and teams.
- Contract and Progress Management:
- Ensure schedules comply with contract requirements and milestones are achieved.
- Monitor schedule changes and trends, propose corrective actions, or develop recovery plans when delays occur.
- Prepare monthly progress reports for clients and internal reporting for the Project Manager.
- Conduct schedule audits and reviews to ensure schedule accuracy and validity.
- Risk and Change Management:
- Assess and validate actual progress and provide feedback for continuous improvements.
- Analyze delays and prepare Extension of Time (EOT) analysis for client delays.
- Identify key procurement items and critical approvals in project schedules.
- Support and Mentoring:
- Supervise or train less experienced colleagues on small and middle-sized projects.
- Provide project feedback and lessons learned to improve scheduling methods.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in project planning and scheduling, preferably with Primavera (P6) and/or Microsoft Project.
- Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to interface with clients and stakeholders to represent the organization professionally.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with SAP ECC CATS for time entry is a plus.
- Skills:
- Knowledge of Subsea products and project contractual reviews.
- Ability to work in live meetings with stakeholders, managing schedules and timelines.
- Other Requirements:
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to address complex scheduling challenges.
- 25% travel required to various project sites.
Working Conditions:
- Work Schedule: 2 days per week working from home, 3 days mandatory in-office (Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday).
- Core Hours: 9 AM to 3 PM CST, 8-hour workdays, flexible based on project needs.
- Location: Hybrid (Houston, TX) with some travel to project sites.
