Job summary

Jobvite, Inc. seeks a Project Safety Specialist to implement the RES Safety Management System on wind, solar, substation, transmission, or energy storage projects in the US or Canada. You will promote a strong safety culture, liaise with project teams, and develop site-specific safety documentation and trainings.

The role requires travel 75-100%, a valid driver's license, and various EHS certifications; a high school diploma and relevant degrees are required or preferred based on experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Associate degree in Environmental Health and Safety or two years of equivalent work or military experience is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety Preferred.
• Emergency Medical Technician certification preferred.
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification preferred.
• CHST/CUSP/OHST/NCSO/CHSC certification preferred.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• OSHA 510 certification preferred.
• NFPA 70E/CSA Z462 certification preferred.
• Less than 1 year of Energy/Utility Industry Safety experience preferred.
• Less than 1 year of Construction Industry Safety experience preferred.
• Ability to travel 75-100%.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Knowledge of regulations, coaching, training, contractor management, and safety systems.
• Proficiency with incident investigation and safety software.

Responsibilities

• Promotes safety culture through coaching, development, influence, and training.
• Acts as health and safety liaison for the project team and client.
• Develops and maintains site safety documentation (JHA, Site Safety Plan, etc.).
• Delivers training on Safety Initiatives, Site Orientation, and SMS.
