Job summary

Sheakley Workforce Staffing is seeking a Project Safety Manager for a Greensboro, NC data center construction project. This 12 month, 1099 contract role pays $70/hr locally or $52/hr + $125/day per diem for travelers, with weekly pay and overtime options.

Schedule includes Mon-Sat 7:00 AM-3:00 PM with 50-60 hours/week and possible Sundays. The successful candidate will oversee multiple Safety Technicians, ensure OSHA/NFPA 70/70E compliance, and coordinate with project leaders and client

Qualifications

  • Four-year degree in EHS or related field plus 3+ years of full-time construction safety management experience
  • BCSP Credential (minimum CHST) plus 5+ years of full-time construction safety management experience
  • OSHA 500 Certification plus 6+ years of full-time construction safety management experience
  • Current First Aid/CPR Certification
  • Data Center Construction Experience
  • Experience with NFPA 70 and NFPA 70E
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Active workers' compensation coverage of $1,000,000 prior to project start

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily safety leadership for electrical installation and utility construction activities
  • Supervise and mentor multiple onsite Safety Technicians
  • Maintain a highly visible presence throughout active work areas
  • Conduct routine site inspections, audits, observations, and hazard assessments
  • Monitor electrical construction and utility installation activities
  • Review JHAs, permits, and pre-task plans
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, NFPA 70/70E requirements, and project-specific safety standards
  • Identify unsafe conditions and coordinate timely corrective actions
  • Provide field coaching and reinforce safe work practices with craft personnel
  • Coordinate safety activities with project management, supervision, subcontractors, and client representatives
  • Participate in incident investigations and corrective action implementation
  • Maintain required safety documentation, inspection records, and compliance reports
  • Promote a proactive safety culture throughout the project

Location: Greensboro, NC
Duration: 12 Months (Start: ASAP / 10/5/2026)
Type: 1099 Contractor

Compensation & Schedule

Pay Rate: $70/hr (Local Candidates) OR $52/hr + $125/day Per Diem (Travelers)
Overtime: Maximum OT Rate 1.4x Standard Rate
Per Diem: $125/day (7 Days Per Week for Travelers)
Completion Bonus: $150/month
Pay Frequency: Weekly
Schedule: Monday-Saturday | 7:00 AM-3:00 PM | 50-60 Hours/Week
Additional Schedule Details: Possible Sundays as project demands require.

  • OSHA 500 Certification plus 6+ years of full-time construction safety management experience

Additionally:
