Job summary

RES Group is hiring a Project Safety Manager I to implement the RESSystem SMS on wind, solar, substation, transmission, or energy storage projects in the US or Canada. You will promote a safety culture, coach teams, and liaise with regulators and clients to ensure compliance.

The role requires developing site safety docs, leading audits, and delivering safety training. Occasional travel and a strong emphasis on leadership and collaboration are expected.

Qualifications

• Promotes safety culture through coaching, development, influence, and training.
• Acts as SME and liaison for health and safety for the project team and client.
• Serves as liaison to regulatory agencies during audits, inspections, and investigations.
• Leads safety discussions in POD, All Hands, Tailgate, and client meetings.
• Develops and maintains site safety documentation (JHA, Site Rules, OHS plans).
• Drives corrective actions and tracks injury data and safety metrics.

Responsibilities

• Promotes company safety culture through coaching, development, influence, and training.
• Acts as subject matter expert and liaison for health and safety for the project team and client.
• Serves as a key liaison to regulatory agencies and third parties during audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
• Prioritizes daily/weekly/monthly goals for other Project Safety Specialists.
• Develops and maintains site-specific documentation (Site Safety Plan, Site Rules, Emergency Response Plan, JHA).
• Oversees Permit to Work processes and PPE distribution.
• Delivers training on Safety Initiatives, SMS requirements, and regulatory requirements.
• Leads safety discussions at various project meetings and client meetings.
• Leads implementation of safety incentive programs and investigates incidents.
