SWCA Environmental Consultants seeks a Project Restoration Engineer in Lombard, IL to lead ecosystem restoration and water resources design across the Great Lakes region and beyond. The role emphasizes hydraulics, hydrology, geomorphology, and advanced modeling using AutoCAD Civil 3D and HEC-RAS.

The position is full-time with benefits, offering hybrid or distributed remote work. Candidates from other locations may be considered; IL-based candidates are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Agricultural, Biological, Civil, Environmental, or Coastal) required.
• Four years of ecosystem restoration design experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
• Ability to travel up to 20% for field data collection and client meetings.
• Experience with HEC-RAS and hydraulic/hydrologic modeling software.
• Experience developing restoration design plans in AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Responsabilités

• Leads management of projects: schedules, budgets, and deliverables; client communication; team coordination; QA.
• Develops restoration designs: stream/wetland restoration, living shorelines, nature-based infrastructure.
• Performs field investigations and analyses to optimize solutions and minimize environmental impact.
• Prepares construction drawings, specs, and contract documents; supports QA reviews.
