Job summary

Verdantas in Ohio is seeking a Senior Water/Wastewater Project Engineer to lead design and delivery of treatment, distribution, and collection systems.

You will mentor staff, coordinate cross-disciplinary teams, and ensure regulatory compliance while advancing sustainable infrastructure for communities. This role emphasizes high-visibility projects, client engagement, and mentorship, with hybrid work flexibility across Ohio offices and a starting salary around six figures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering
• 6+ years of water/wastewater design and project leadership
• Active PE license in Ohio
• Experience with municipal and/or private clients
• Knowledge of funding programs and project financing (state/federal)
• Strong understanding of permitting and regulatory requirements
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage priorities, and deliver high-quality work
• Deep technical expertise and a passion for solving complex infrastructure challenges

Responsibilities

• Take the lead on planning and designing water, wastewater, treatment, distribution, and collection system projects
• Drive project success by managing scope, schedule, and budgets
• Prepare and oversee development of plans, specifications, cost estimates, and schedules
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to engineering and technical staff
• Coordinate across multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions
• Partner with CAD teams to bring designs to life
• Interface with regulatory agencies and navigate permitting requirements
• Support business development efforts, including proposals and client pursuits
• Build lasting relationships with municipal and private sector clients

The starting salary for this position is $110,000, with final compensation determined based on qualifications, experience, and licensing status.
