Job summary

Verdantas in Concord, NH, seeks a Senior Engineer to lead civil and water resource planning and design tasks. You will apply innovative, cost-effective solutions for drinking water, wastewater, and recycled water projects, using HEC tools and InfoWater.

You’ll guide multi-disciplinary teams, mentor junior staff, and engage clients to shape long-term relationships while contributing to master plans and infrastructure delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with focus in water resources.
  • PE license in California (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
  • 10+ years in water/wastewater, stormwater planning, design and construction admin.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design of water supply infrastructure: pipelines, pump stations, tanks.
  • Model hydrology/hydraulics using HEC tools and InfoWater.
  • Prepare calculations, drawings, specs, and reports for deliverables.
  • Oversee potable water treatment, distribution, and master plans.
  • Direct multidisciplinary teams and coordinate subconsultants across phases.
  • Manage conveyance systems and wastewater design including lift stations.
  • Provide technical leadership, quality reviews, and mentoring.
  • Engage clients to define needs and foster long-term relationships.
  • Contribute to scope, schedule, budget, and project deliverables.

Job Description

We are seekinga Senior Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will perform a variety of civil and water resource planning and design tasks. Our team specializes in developing innovative and cost-effective solutions for our clients’ most challenging water resources, drinking water, wastewater, and recycled water projects.

What You’ll Do:
  • Perform engineering design for water supply infrastructure projects, including pipelines, pump stations, storage tanks, well sites, and related facilities.
  • Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) modeling using tools such as HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS, HEC‑FDA, InfoWater, and other industry-standard software.
  • Prepare technical calculations, design drawings, specifications, and reports to support project deliverables.
  • Lead the planning and design of potable water treatment facilities, distribution infrastructure, and system master plans.
  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams and coordinate subconsultants throughout all project phases, from planning and design through commissioning.
  • Manage conveyance systems and oversee wastewater collection system design, including pipelines, lift stations, and associated infrastructure, and contribute to long-range system master planning efforts.
  • Provide technical leadership, quality review, and mentorship to junior and mid-level engineering staff.
  • Develop engineering analyses, design calculations, technical reports, drawings, and specifications to support project deliverables.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams to ensure design quality, regulatory compliance, and effective project execution.
  • Engage directly with clients to define project needs, present technical solutions, and support long-term relationship development.
  • Contribute to project management activities, including scope development, scheduling, budgeting, and oversight of project deliverables.
  • Actively participate in relevant professional organizations
What You’ll Bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related engineering field with a focus in water resources, environmental, or hydraulic engineering
  • PE Registration in California, or ability to obtain CA registration within 1 yr
  • 10+ years of experience in water/wastewater, stormwater planning, design, and construction administration as a lead design engineer or project manager
  • Strong team leadership experience or proven potential, including managing project delivery expectations, prioritization of tasks, and mentoring
  • Experience with GIS, AutoCAD, and Civil3D
  • Experience with levee design efforts, including evaluation, analysis, and preparation of engineering design documents is preferred
  • Stormwater system design projects, including drainage infrastructure, and comprehensive stormwater master planning are preferred
Salary Range:

$140,000-$200,000
