Job summary

RK&K is seeking a Project Administrator in Miami, FL to support the Construction Management team. The role provides technical management for transportation construction projects and requires coordinating meetings, pursuit letters, and staff supervision.

Qualified candidates will have a Civil Engineering degree with 2+ years of relevant experience or a high school diploma with 8+ years in major road/bridge construction, plus FDOT MOT certification and Florida-specific procedures familiarity.

Qualifications

• Civil Engineering degree with 2+ years in major road/bridge construction, or high school diploma with 8+ years relevant experience.
• FDOT Advanced MOT certification is required.
• Experience with Florida roadway/bridge project duties (MAC, EEO, estimates, field changes) and FDOT specs/procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare pursuit letters for project opportunities.
• Supervise construction office and inspection staff.
• Represent the project in Construction, Progress, and Staff Meetings and FDOT conferences.
• Serve as Project Engineer/Administrator on multiple construction projects.

RK&K is excited to add a Project Administrator to our Construction, Engineering and Inspection (CEI) team in Miami, FL. This position will work within our Construction Management group and will provide technical management for transportation construction projects.

RK&K is one of the leading CEI firms in Florida serving transportation and tolling agencies throughout the state overseeing major transportation construction projects. The RK&K Construction Management team has served in the oversight and delivery of new alignments as well as capacity and interchange improvements which include ITS construction and Tolling infrastructure conversions and express lanes.

Essential Functions

• Providing pursuit letter preparation for various project pursuits.
• Supervising construction office and inspection staff.
• Serving as a representative for Construction Meetings, Progress Meetings, and Staff Meetings as assigned.
• Attending FDOT Meetings and/or Conferences.
• Serving as the Project Engineer/Administrator on various construction projects for numerous clients.
• Performing additional responsibilities as required by the client.

Required Skills and Experience

• A Civil Engineering degree* plus two (2) years of engineering experience in construction of major road or bridge structures, or High School diploma with eight (8) years of responsible and related engineering experience, two (2) years of which involved construction of major road or bridge structures.
• FDOT Advanced MOT certification
• Experience having performed roadway and bridge project related duties in the State of Florida (i.e. Materials Acceptance and Certification System (MAC), EEO compliance, processing of Supplemental Agreements and/or work orders, progress and final estimates, reviewing and recommending field changes).
• Must be familiar with FDOT Specifications and procedures
• Must be willing to attend CTQP Quality Control Manager Course and pass the examination.
