Placements24 is seeking a Project Mechanical Engineer for our client in Paarl, Western Cape. The role oversees mechanical projects from concept to completion, leading cross-functional teams and ensuring technical excellence, timely delivery, and budget adherence in a hybrid on-site/remote setup around Paarl.

You will coordinate with procurement, manufacturing, and site installation teams, ensure compliance with SA standards and safety regulations, and deliver clear progress reports to senior

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in project engineering or mechanical project management.
• Proven ability to manage projects from conception through to completion.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, fabrication techniques, and construction methods.
• Experience with project management software such as MS Project or Primavera.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment around Paarl, Western Cape.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple mechanical engineering projects concurrently, ensuring successful outcomes.
• Develop project plans, timelines, and resource allocations for mechanical engineering tasks.
• Oversee the detailed design and specification of mechanical systems, equipment, and infrastructure.
• Coordinate with procurement, manufacturing, and site installation teams to ensure smooth project execution.
• Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor progress and address any technical challenges.
• Ensure all mechanical designs comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and client requirements.
• Prepare and present project progress reports to senior management and clients.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, proactively resolving issues to maintain project momentum.
• Foster strong working relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
