Job summary

Placements24 seeks a results-oriented Mechanical Engineer to lead end-to-end mechanical projects from concept through commissioning in Welkom. You’ll manage scope, budget, and timelines while guiding cross-functional teams across design, procurement, and field service.

The role requires strong CAD skills (Inventor/SolidWorks), PM know-how, and leadership ability to drive critical initiatives in an industrial setting. Hybrid work setup is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant technical field.
• 4+ years of progressive mechanical engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a project coordination or leadership role.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Inventor, SolidWorks) and engineering analysis tools.
• Solid understanding of project management methodologies and best practices.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering projects, ensuring successful delivery on time and within budget.
• Develop detailed project plans, including resource allocation, risk assessment, and stakeholder communication strategies.
• Oversee the design and analysis of mechanical components and systems, utilizing CAD and simulation tools.
• Coordinate with procurement, manufacturing, and field service teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor project progress and resolve on-site technical issues.
• Prepare project reports, technical documentation, and conduct post-project reviews to capture lessons learned.
