Qualifications

• 5+ years managing ground‑up commercial or light industrial construction projects in Houston/TX market.
• Experience on ground-up projects including data centers, distribution centers, life sciences, warehouses, or tilt wall.
• Bachelor’s degree in CM/ Civil/ Architecture or related field (or equivalent experience preferred).
• Strong knowledge of contracts, drawings, specs, and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Own project delivery from preconstruction through closeout.
• Develop and maintain schedules, budgets, scopes, and logistics.
• Lead preconstruction and progress meetings with subs and design teams.
• Manage subcontractor buyout, scope development, RFIs, and submittals.
• Oversee punch lists, startup, and commissioning.
• Monitor budgets, forecasts, and cash flow.
• Review and approve subcontractor and owner pay applications.

About the Company & Role:

We’ve partnered with a 45+ year nationally renown general contractor with to help hire various Project Managers for their Houston office. These individuals will lead high‑impact light industrial and mixed commercial projects including tilt wall, warehouses, distribution centers, municipal, aviation, and other large scaled projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring delivery on time, on budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. You’ll guide teams, solve problems, and strengthen relationships every step of the way.

What We’re Looking For:

• 5+ years managing ground‑up commercial or light industrial construction projects ranging from $5M–$100M+with a local general contractor in Houston / Texas market
• Experience working on ground up projects including data centers + distribution centers, life sciences, warehouse, and other tilt wall projects in the Texas market is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience preferred, NOT required).
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, drawings, specs, and safety standards.
• Skilled in scheduling, budgeting, and problem‑solving.
• Excellent communicator with a team‑oriented mindset.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Procore, Bluebeam, or similar.

What You’ll Do:

Project & Construction Management

• Own project delivery from preconstruction through closeout.
• Develop and maintain schedules, budgets, scopes, and logistics.
• Review and implement Owner contract requirements.
• Lead preconstruction and progress meetings with superintendents, subs, and design teams.
• Manage subcontractor buyout, scope development, RFIs, and submittals.
• Oversee punch lists, start‑up, and commissioning.
• Partner with field and office teams to resolve issues and drive progress.
• Monitor budgets, forecasts, and cash flow.
• Review and approve subcontractor and owner pay applications.
• Manage change orders (Owner and Subcontractor).

Client & Team Relationships

• Serve as the main point of contact for owners and reps.
• Lead weekly on‑site meetings and communicate project updates.
• Build long‑term client and subcontractor relationships.
• Mentor Assistant PMs and Project Engineers.

Operational Excellence

• Champion safety, quality, and schedule adherence.
• Ensure compliance with contracts, permits, codes, and insurance requirements.
• Identify risks early and provide proactive solutions.
• Maintain thorough documentation in project management systems.
