Job summary

Core Group Resources is seeking an experienced Project Manager for commercial construction in Houston. You will independently lead multiple active projects, oversee budgets, schedules, contracts, and closeout, and coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, and field teams to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

The role requires tilt-wall construction expertise, strong estimating ability, and a proactive, detail-oriented approach.

Qualifications

  • Proven PM experience in commercial construction.
  • Tilt-wall construction experience mandatory.
  • Ability to oversee multiple active projects independently.
  • Experience managing budgets, schedules, contracts, change orders, and closeout.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage multiple commercial construction projects from preconstruction to completion.
  • Develop, monitor, and report on project budgets, schedules, and forecasts.
  • Oversee contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project docs.
  • Prepare and present estimates for potential projects while managing current work.
  • Review drawings, specs, scopes of work, and project requirements for planning and estimating.
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and field leadership.
  • Work with Superintendents to maintain schedules and address issues promptly.
  • Monitor project costs to identify budget/schedule risks.
  • Manage subcontractor procurement, negotiations, and evaluations.
  • Lead project meetings and maintain transparent stakeholder communication.
  • Ensure compliance with contracts, quality standards, and timelines.
  • Oversee closeout activities, punch lists, and turnover.
  • Maintain strong client relationships throughout the lifecycle.

Job Summary

An established commercial general contractor in Houston is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead multiple active commercial construction projects. This pivotal role involves overseeing budgets, schedules, contracts, change orders, subcontractor coordination, and project closeout independently. The ideal candidate will bring strong commercial construction expertise, particularly in tilt-wall projects, and possess the ability to estimate potential projects while managing ongoing work. Responsibilities
  • Independently manage multiple commercial construction projects from preconstruction to completion.
  • Develop, monitor, and report on project budgets, schedules, and financial forecasts.

  • Prepare and present estimates for potential projects while managing current projects.
  • Review drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project requirements to ensure accurate planning and estimating.
  • Collaborate closely with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and field leadership.
  • Work with Superintendents to ensure project schedules are maintained and operational challenges are addressed promptly.
  • Monitor project costs proactively to identify and mitigate potential budget or schedule risks.
  • Manage subcontractor procurement, negotiations, scope reviews, and performance evaluations.
  • Conduct project meetings and maintain transparent communication with all stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects adhere to contractual obligations, quality standards, and established timelines.
  • Oversee project closeout activities, including punch list completion, documentation, and turnover.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
  • Proven Project Management experience within commercial construction.
  • Tilt-wall construction experience is mandatory.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently oversee multiple active projects.
  • Experience managing project budgets, schedules, contracts, change orders, and project closeout procedures.
  • Estimating expertise, with the ability to assess potential projects while managing ongoing work.
  • Solid understanding of commercial construction processes, including drawings, specifications, and subcontractor scopes.
  • Strong organizational, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to coordinate efficiently with field teams, clients, design professionals, and subcontractors.
Nice To Have Skills
  • Experience involving multiple-building commercial developments.
  • Large-scale projects exceeding 400,000 square feet.
  • Ground-up commercial construction projects.
  • A diverse portfolio of commercial building types requiring coordination between preconstruction, project management, and field operations.
Preferred Education And Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Several years of proven project management experience in commercial construction, particularly in tilt-wall projects, are highly desirable.
Other Requirements
  • Ability to travel as needed for project coordination.
  • Relevant certifications such as PMP or OSHA are a plus.
