Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a licensed Civil/Environmental Engineer in Massachusetts to lead water and wastewater projects from concept through construction, ensuring regulatory compliance and client satisfaction.

You will supervise multidisciplinary teams, develop design documents, and mentor junior staff while pursuing new business opportunities. Familiarity with NE and NY regulations and Revit is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
• Licensure as a Professional Engineer; multiple-state licensure preferred.
• Demonstrated project management experience; strong leadership and communication.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects from initial concept through construction completion
• Ensure adherence to technical, regulatory, and funding requirements
• Act as the primary client contact
• Guide clients through funding options, permitting, and project execution
• Supervise multidisciplinary teams and provide technical leadership, mentorship, and oversight
• Prepare and oversee construction documents, including permit applications, drawings, specifications, opinions of cost, and reports
• Attend meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders
• Address project needs and resolve design challenges
• Identify and pursue new project opportunities
• Contribute to proposals, interviews, and business development efforts
• Plan, design, and administer construction of conveyance systems, treatment plants, and pump stations
• Support capital improvement planning, hydraulic modeling, asset management programs, and water resource management plans

Requirements

• Strong technical skills
• Strong leadership ability with a passion for managing and mentoring others
• Clear, concise, and effective written and verbal communication skills
• Familiarity with New England and New York water and wastewater regulations, permitting processes, and funding opportunities
• Understanding of Revit use on multidisciplinary water and wastewater infrastructure projects
• Experience in water and wastewater system design, including treatment plants, pump stations, conveyance systems, and asset management planning
• Enthusiasm for learning and a self-motivated approach to professional growth
• Additional licensure in multiple states to support diverse project needs
